about

moe.gallery is not just a gallery
– it is a living art space.

Founded in Aarhus by the artist Zacker, moe.gallery was created as a home for contemporary artists who work from intuition, depth, and personal vision rather than trends. It is a place where art is allowed to breathe, change, and take up space — both physically and emotionally.

We believe art is part of life, not separate from it.
Exhibitions at moe.gallery grow out of conversations, friendships, curiosity and long evenings in the studio. Many of our artists move freely between painting, drawing, poetry, sound, performance and installation — and we welcome that openness. The gallery also embraces the unfinished, the fragile, the experimental and the deeply personal.

moe.gallery works as a platform for both emerging and established artists, offering exhibitions, workshops, readings and intimate events that invite visitors into the artistic process rather than simply presenting the final result.

Our space is informal, human and open.
Here you can meet the artists, sit down, talk about art, and feel at home.
We don’t aim to be distant — we aim to be real.

moe.gallery exists for those who believe that art is not something you just look at - it is something you live with.

moè 萌え

Japanese pronunciation: [mo.e] is used to describe feelings of love, adoration, devotion and excitement.

moè has evolved to be used on many subjects. Included in the meaning of the word is the idea of "deep feelings felt towards a particular subject" used in cases where a simple "like" is not enough to express the feeling.

The common characteristic of all feelings of moè is that the subject of such feelings is something with which one cannot have a real relationship. It can be considered a kind of "pseudo-romance", but it is not always seen as the same as "romance".
