CES (b. 1994) is a Danish multidisciplinary artist and singer-songwriter from Aarhus, moving between painting, sculpture, and her music project CESIE. Her works welcome all beings and create a refuge for strange forms, where outcast creatures and oceanic shapes unfold with care and attention for the world we share.
About
CES visual universe is shaped by Cubist ways of seeing, luminous geometry, and a quiet feeling of alienation. It is a visual language that connects directly with her music, opening up a world of forms, colours, and awkward dilemmas, shaped by transparent emotions. CES creates an artistic space where sound, form, and colour meet in a playful exchange, and where those who feel out of place can find a sense of belonging as they are.
Her oceanic sculptures reflect the damaging path human activity has taken in marine environments. Through hollow and echoing forms, they mirror the impact we leave behind, yet carry a quiet sense of hope that we can still restore balance and reconnect with nature, especially the sea.
In March 2025, CES released her debut album under the artist name CESIE. The album cover, The Internal Relation, created by her, serves as a visual reflection of the music, translating its tones into colour and form within her own universe.
She grew up in Birmingham, England, and moved back to Denmark at the age of 16. She later developed her artistic language in Paris, as well as at Engelsholm Folk High School and the Aarhus Art Academy.
