Driin is a Brazilian artist whose work moves freely between painting, drawing, tattoo and digital media. With over 25 years of practice, he creates intuitive, emotionally charged works that explore life, spirituality and human connection. His distinctive visual universe is rooted in both experience and inner vision.
About
Based in Florianópolis, southern Brazil. For about 25 years, my work has been based on the artistic production of images that, through shapes, colors and mainly emotions, portray a way of seeing what LIFE delivers to us in its amplitude and mysteries.
Graduated in Graphic Design (2006) and post-graduated in Visual Arts Master's (2010), both at UDESC (State University of Santa Catarina). This period of academic formation consolidated articulations that structure my entire artistic and professional process. Parallel to academic studies, I started in the art of tattooing in the year 2000. Founder and owner of Studio VIIDA TATTOO.

Trajectory
it's like a goal... a dream or a "madness" experienced from which I manage to accomplish my things just by being the essence of who I am. Explaining it better. One day I left home with a surfboard and a backpack full of paints and threw myself into the world, precisely, Florianópolis, the "Island of Magic". I identified myself with the place in such a way that I could disconnect from material things for a great dive into self-knowledge and artistic and poetic production.
So this thing called art, in my case, is much more a relationship of people with what I draw and illustrate, than something placed on a pedestal. Drawing for me was and is something like a pastime, a kind of escape, healing, often a trance, and that's how I managed to dialogue with the world and with people. The big question becomes my intention with the drawing, detachment, and application. I draw on people, tattooing, this has been my craft for 25 years. I also draw on walls, on the computer, on objects, and depending on the support and cultural, social, and economic relations, we can define it as graffiti, design, art, anyway, drawings. In this way, I built my networks of relationships, affective and professional, and I have been achieving an insertion in the field of arts mainly through poetry translated into colors and gestures.
Exhibition
My first exhibition was at the end of 2007 and over time I participated in numerous group exhibitions, one of them being Kuboshow with over 99 artists in an old deactivated factory in the city of Herne, Germany. I also participated in tattoo conventions and workshops, taking my art to the most diverse places, from tattoo studios to streets and walls and to museums and galleries. From this, many events were held both in the field of art and advertising work with companies such as Mini (BMW), Ogio, China in Box, among others. After some time away from galleries, this invitation from moe.gallery becomes a milestone and a return to the international art market.

When lines run on paper, the driving energy from the hand is the result of a more panting breath. When speaking of inspiration, I feel events on my skin, and with closed eyes, visions appear. In this way, art becomes a portrait of the soul... a portrait of people I don't know in the physical world. Instinct rules the rhythm. Colors merge, fall in love, and from them emanate silent music into space. Being alive can become expression. My LIIFE happens in waking dreams... visions from other planes... tattooed skins... mistakes... and poetry.
