Emilie holds a Master’s degree in IT Project Management and had no professional background in art or design. Waves did not emerge from a carefully planned idea, but rather from curiosity and a need to create something by hand.
She quotes; "Although my background did not point towards a career in art and design, it felt like an entirely natural step. My intuition has been my most important compass, especially when making major decisions. It has never been about following a fixed plan, but about sensing where curiosity and desire would lead us".
"I don’t need to know how things are supposed to be done. I am completely comfortable not having a formal design background. It gives me the freedom to create from intuition and emotion - allowing the materials, colours, and processes to develop naturally and become what they are meant to be".
