Workshops, events & exhibitions

moe.gallery invites you for the first time to moe.art-festival.

This year we are exploring these themes as an extension of Aarhus Festival Grounded Futures, Myth × Machine, and Borders & Belonging.

Through workshops you are invited to explore What might the future look like when rooted in care, sustainability, and human connection? What emerges when ancient stories encounter new technologies, and myths intertwine with machines? And how do we navigate the boundaries that both separate and connect us - as neighbours, communities, and fellow human beings? Through art, conversation, and shared experiences, we invite you to approach these themes with curiosity, openness, and imagination, and to discover new perspectives on the world we inhabit together.

The joint exhibition WALL OF MINDS brings together all the participants' works in a diverse and colorful picture of how no age can be experienced, understood and interpreted.

Hidden installation

Discover the evolution of our secret artist’s large-scale work throughout the week.

Throughout the moe.art-festival, you will have the opportunity to follow the day-to-day development of our hidden artist’s work. Materials and workspace will be set up on our rooftop terrace, allowing the artist to experiment, create, and play with ideas as the piece takes shape.

You may be lucky enough to catch the artist at work and have a conversation about street art, or simply watch the artwork unfold over the course of the week.

This project has been developed in collaboration with the artist, who has been given open access to the gallery in order to create independently of schedules, frameworks, and expectations.

Curious to see what emerges? Drop by at any point during the week and experience the process for yourself.

We’re kicking off the festival week with the coziest Friday bar at the gallery – an evening filled with great atmosphere, live music, and inspiring art.

This special Friday, you’ll have the chance to meet our in-house musician, Kaspar Tinley, who will be jamming with his band and creating the perfect soundtrack for a relaxed start to the weekend. Expect intimate tunes, good energy, and an atmosphere that invites both conversation and contemplation.

The gallery will, of course, remain open throughout the evening, giving you the opportunity to explore the artwork while enjoying a cold beer or simply soaking in the creative surroundings.

IMPERFECTIONS

Vernissage: Imperfections

Artists: Driin, Thomas & Bjarke
Date: 4 th. September - 5pm

In this upcoming exhibition, you will encounter three talented artists who, in their daily lives, work as tattoo artists, coming together in a collaborative and multifaceted show.

Thomas Krohn Jensen and Bjarke Tuadal work together at Venlig Hilsen, a neighboring tattoo studio located next to the gallery. Alongside their tattoo practice, both Thomas and Bjarke create art of their own, exploring a space where there are no boundaries - only a love for art without rules.

Driin, from Brazil and already an artist represented by moe.Gallery, immediately embraced the project. Like Thomas and Bjarke, he values the freedom of artistic expression, individuality, the unconventional, and, as he himself puts it, “the ugly in the beauty and the beauty in the ugly.”

Which is something all three artist can relate to, and henceforth the titel of the exhibition.

Through their distinct personal styles, the three artists will create an exhibition united by their shared passion for tattooing, art, and the unconventional.

WALL OF MINDS Vernissage & Exhibition

WALL OF MiNDS

A Community Art Project by moe.gallery

WALL OF MiNDS is a community art project created by moe.gallery, bringing people together through creativity, art, and shared experiences.

The project is built on the belief that everyone has a story, a thought, or a perspective worth expressing. Through workshops, events, and creative activities, both beginners and experienced artists are invited to create a personal artwork with guidance from professional artists.

The completed works become part of the WALL OF MiNDS exhibition at moe.gallery, where they come together to form a vibrant portrait of the people who have participated in the project. Each artwork is unique, yet together they tell the story of a creative community.

Following the exhibition opening, WALL OF MiNDS continues through both a physical and a digital exhibition. The artworks remain on display at moe.gallery while also being presented online, allowing an even wider audience to experience the exhibition and vote for their favorites before the recipient of the WALL OF MiNDS Art Award is announced.

WALL OF MiNDS is not a competition to find the best artist. It is an invitation to be curious, challenge yourself, and discover how art can create meaningful connections between people.

One wall. Many people. Endless stories.

You are able to participate in a joint WALL OF MINDS exhibition, which will be launched with a vernissage. You can invite family and friends for wine and bubbles.

VERNISSAGE
On Saturday, September 6th, at 2-3 pm, you and all the other students will hold a joint vernissage.

EXHIBITION
From Saturday, September 6th to Saturday.
