Anne-Grethe Lorenzen and Karin Høegsberg will present a joint exhibition from 30 July - 22 AugustWe are pleased to welcome you to GODS & GULD.
This exhibition considers transformation as both material process and conceptual gesture. Working with reclaimed and recycled materials, the artists challenge conventional ideas of value, inviting us to reconsider the relationship between what is discarded and what is preserved, overlooked and revered.
Throughout the exhibition, materials carry traces of previous lives. Fragments, remnants, and found objects are reconfigured into new forms, where histories of use become integral to the work itself. Here, gold is understood not as a measure of wealth, but as a condition of attention - a way of recognising beauty, meaning, and potential where they might otherwise remain unseen.
The works unfold through subtle tensions: permanence and impermanence, fragility and resilience, excess and restraint. Rather than offering fixed narratives, they open spaces for reflection, allowing each encounter to remain personal and contingent.
GODS & GULD proposes that value is never inherent, but continually negotiated through perception, context, and transformation.
We invite you to move through the exhibition with curiosity and openness, and to consider where, and how, gold reveals itself.

ARTIST
Anne-Grethe Lorenzen
Born in 1949, Anne-Grethe Lorenzen began exploring painting later in life.
She has always been fascinated by colours, shapes, and composition. Purple is her favourite colour, and it appears like a strand of DNA throughout her paintings.
The title of each work always comes last.
She works with acrylic on canvas, incorporating charcoal and soft pastels. Colours are mixed directly on the canvas, where layers are built up one upon another.
Her paintings are created through an expressive approach in which energy, temperament, atmosphere, lyricism, and exploration determine the rhythm and pace of the process.
Her artistic practice is guided by a combination of intuition and a deep understanding of composition. Each painting ultimately receives a title that reflects the conscious and unconscious processes behind its creation.
She finds inspiration in nature, by the sea, in music, and in life's experiences.
Her aim is to create works that invite viewers to form their own interpretations and personal experiences.
Her mentor and teacher is the visual artist Lars K. Hansen of Aarhus.

Karin Høegsberg
Karin Høegsberg is an artist with a profound connection to nature, which serves as both her inspiration and her source of creative energy.
Born with an endless drive to explore and create, Karin approaches her work with curiosity, passion, and authenticity. While her creative spirit is constantly in motion, painting provides her with a quiet, contemplative space where intuition and emotion can unfold freely.
Colour plays a central role in her artistic expression. Through vibrant palettes, rich textures, and layered compositions, she creates works that invite reflection and emotional connection.
Her studio is both a sanctuary and a place of discovery, where ideas evolve into expressive works of art. Rather than offering fixed interpretations, Karin encourages each viewer to experience her work in their own way, allowing personal impressions and emotions to shape the encounter.
Karin works with a diverse range of materials, including iron, copper, rust, canvas, acrylics, paint markers, chalk, and lime. By combining raw, industrial elements with fluid techniques, she creates artworks that balance strength and delicacy, structure and spontaneity. Each piece reflects a dialogue between materials, colours, and the natural world, resulting in unique and deeply personal artistic expressions.
